![]() Those things are just the way they are.įundamentally, the problem is as Josh said, the Midget suspension is just not modern at all. Unfortunately, even the Frontline kit doesn't do anything with the real problems in the front suspension, the weak lower trunion, the too short lower control arm, the too small suspension stroke. In the front, there's the Frontline telescopic conversion which does replace the lever arm dampers with a telescopic, and adds 2 deg of negative camber, which does improve cornering, but a rebuilt lever arm works as well, and there are negative camber bushings available which can provide that. ![]() For best handling, and for best ride, rather soft springs in the rear is best (basically, leave them stock). So, in the rear, the best thing is to have the lever arms rebuilt. ![]() It is a pretty natural to think that replacing the lever arm dampers with telescopic will do something, improve ride or handling or what have you, but it turns out that the rear works best with the lever arm ones (unless you want to revise the body structure back there to create room for a long stroke telescopic - most aftermarket ones use a very short stroke, so they don't do much for ride or for handling, or they lay them over so far on their side that you get the same kind of result).
